As per United's status match program. 120 day trial granted instantly but can select a future date to start. Noted in the T&Cs there are some limitations during the trial period, mainly reciprocal benefits for Star Alliance airlines (such as lounge access)

Contacted SQ via their app chat. They asked if I had any recent or upcoming flights with them - I had an upcoming LAX-SIN-MAA flight. Emailed me a form to fill in, plus had to show 24 months of flight history with QF, and screenshot of QF status. Took a couple of weeks but it came through a day after my flight.

Used the feedback form to request status match. Took about 4 emails, because they think I didn't qualify since my membership year ends in less than 2 months, even though I earned more than enough to maintain Qantas Platinum for the following year. Eventually they upgraded my status to Elite for a trial period of 4 months. Take any international flight with Turkish Airlines within the trial period will cement the status for another 8 months (1 year total)

Contacted Turkish Airlines via “Feedback” on their web page. Needed to - (a) create a Miles & Smiles account; (b) provide copy of Qantas FF card (screen grab of Qantas digital card was used) (c) provide copy of name page from passport; (c) provide “a statement for the same membership showing your name, membership number and flights for the previous two months (not boarding pass or ticket)”. This wasn’t immediately easy to do! Match granted for four months trial period, requirements for ongoing status are : “You are required to perform at least one international flight with Turkish Airlines in this period. “At the end of the trial period, if you have at least one international flight in your membership account, which you have performed with Turkish Airlines, your Elite membership is extended for 8 more months (i.e. it remains valid for 1 year in total after the match). “If you reach 15,000 Status Miles in the international flights you will perform with Turkish Airlines in the first year of your Elite membership, your membership is extended for 1 more year (i.e. it remains valid for 2 years in total after the match).”

I contacted China Airlines directly through the Contact Us / Feedback form on the website. It's not really intended for this kind of enquiry, but they acknowledge my request via email after a few days. I requested Qantas Platinum to China Airlines Paragon (go hard or go home). After about 3 weeks, I just received confirmation of Superior level, which they tell me is equivalent to Gold (2 levels below what I requested). Proof of current Qantas card was required; they accepted a screenshot from my Qantas app.

I wrote to Iberia through facebook messenger. I explained I had Platinum on Qantas and had recently moved to Spain and wanting to start flying Iberia. They asked me to send in a screen shot of my card, if I had any planned flights booked with them, which I did and what were my plans for next year. I told them I would be making some flights to Latin America. They came back after a few days and offered me Plata. A bit disappointing as this is equivalent to Silver on Qantas. But it is better than nothing and their sliver offers a little more than Qantas does.

Applied online to customer service department and received response within 24 hours requesting copy of QF FF card showing current status, activity statement and details of upcoming NZ flights (as we're in midst of Covid crisis just had two upcoming NZ domestic trip bookings). Within further 24 hours status match was approved and Airpoints account updated to reflect new status. Most impressed by the speed and efficiency with which request was processed.

Qantas Platinum One and Virgin Platinum to Krisflyer Gold. Sent copy of flight history and photo of membership cards to Krisflyer. Approved after about a month. Perhaps worth noting that I was previously Krisflyer Gold and missed out on re-qualification by about 12,000 miles (38,000 miles accrued from four business class flights).
