British Airways Executive Club Returns Report: Deny

I have been a frequent flier, Gold member of Emirates Skywards for the past 13 years. I travel long haul 7-8 time per years. I am looking to travel with another airline. I wanted to find out whether I can transfer my Emirates Gold status and airmiles to British Airways. The response I received was curt and to the point: Thank you for having written to The Club about your current Tier status with Emirates Skywards and your wish to upgrade your Executive Club account to the same level. I'm sorry to disappoint you, however it's not our policy to match the status of another frequent flyer programme. Tier status, as you know, is our way of recognising and rewarding our most loyal and frequent travellers. To upgrade certain Club members to higher tiers which other members have worked hard to achieve would be unfair and undervalue their continued support. Considering this and everything you mentioned, at this time I'm sorry to say we're unable to approve your request.
