Signed up an AADVANTAGE account, then call their customer service hotline. Requested Platinum challenge with immediate status. They charged USD500 for a 90 days status. Paid and get the status updated in their system in a minute.
This is good for me because the extra baggage allowance saves me a lot of money. I enjoyed three months lounge access too.
No approval is actually required. They are “selling” the status.
