TAP recently ran a status match campaign where they were matching status from Oneworld, Skyteam Elite and some other non-alliance programs
To be eligible you needed to email their dedicated email address [email protected] with your competing status and account screenshot.
In order to complete the match you then needed to purchase TAP miles (minimum 2,000 miles @ €70)
I received an email saying my account would be upgraded by 16th May, however the upgrade didn't clear until 18th May. New TAP Gold status valid until April 2021

I emailed AAdvantage customer service and requested a status match and they replied within 1 business day with the following challenge (which will frankly impossible for me to meet given the global shutdown in business travel, so I will defer my acceptance to another time). Courteous, succinct, transparent, and professional:
We are pleased to offer you the opportunity to enjoy AAdvantage® Executive Platinum status for 3 months. During this trial period, we challenge you to meet the following requirements to retain your status:
- Earn a minimum of $5,000 elite qualifying dollars (EQDs)
