Got a declination from United while requesting status match. The reason completely doesn't make sense: "We are unable to process you request as the documentation sent is from a Star Alliance company, which is not yet allowed to have status match". But here is the thing: Azul is not a member of any alliance.

Went through the contact form.
They asked for all 2021 flights, showing flying on routes operated by Hawaiian Airlines. I had about 6 flights on BA codeshare but operated by AA (obviously as BA doesn't fly own planes between Hawaii and US) and they counted towards by BA status. The response:
I have reviewed the documentation that you provided and am unable to accommodate your status match request. Please be advised that your flight history in 2021 must show that you flew with British Airways on multiple similar routes operated by Hawaiian Airlines in order to have status matched.
