statusmatch.com now charges US$395 for the match from EY to EK. Contacted EK directly, was told to use statusmatch.com as its their official partner. After informing them about the $395 price tag they advised not to pay and handled the request internally. Result: Offered a challenge (2x eco flight or 1x biz/first flight) to attain the next higher status of what you're currently holding, i.e. EK Blue gets EK Silver, EK Silver gets EK Gold, no matching for EK Platinum.
